Gala Live Host: Adam Philips
Meet Adam Philips
An action-man of eclectic tastes who once pretended to play the keyboards in front of 20,000 people!
What is your favourite Bingo Game?
Who is your favourite Celebrity?
Dustin Hoffman because he is an amazing actor and a really nice guy. A friend of mine interviewed him once and asked him to say a quick hello on tape to another friend who was having a hard time. He just went on to have a personal virtual chat into the microphone which put a massive smile on my friends face for weeks.
Tell us something interesting about you...
Even though I can't play a single note I've actually 'performed' as a keyboard player in a band line up on stage in front of 20,000 people. Of course the keyboards weren't actually plugged in, I dread to think what it would have sounded like if they were.
What is your favourite music?
I've got really really eclectic taste in music and love everything from Classical to Hip Hop, but a stand out band for me at the moment is the Foo Fighters. Doesn't matter what mood I'm in they seem to have the right song for the occasion.
What is your favourite film?
The Matrix. It blew my mind when it was first released because of the great storyline and amazing advances in special effects they used. A close second is the original School for Scoundrels from 1960 with Terry Thomas and Ian Carmichael - just hilarious!
What is the best concert you have been to?
The best concert I didn't get to was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Camden's Roundhouse which I missed because I was ill. The best one I actually made it to was BB King at the Royal Albert Hall, probably 20 years ago.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Favourite Holiday Destination would be a difficult choice for me. I'm quite fascinated by the Middle East and would love to tour the whole region, but for a real recharge and escapism holiday it would have to be somewhere with crystal blue waters and perfect white beaches like The Maldives or Seychelles.
What is your lucky number?
Lucky Number is 7 - it's the day my little girl was born, the best day of my life.
What's your favourite food?
Lebanese, all day every day.
Do you have any hobbies?
When I get the spare time I'm actually quite active and love to get out on two wheels - I particularly enjoy cycling around London because the traffic makes it more of an adrenaline rush than long straight roads leading nowhere. I've also been known to do a bit of roller blading and kite buggying in my time as well. My best night out would be a poker night with the boys, either at home or in a casino, either way it's always a good laugh
