Gala Live Host: Natasha Asghar
Meet Natasha Asghar
An extreme sports fan with extremely embarrassing teenage crushes!
Tell us something interesting about you?
I was born in Wales and lived there until I was 18 before moving to London. Sadly I've lost the Welsh accent but you'll be able to tell when I've been home to visit my parents as it apparently 'comes out' when I say certain things!
What is your lucky number?
My lucky number is 20 - not only is it the day I was born on but it also seems to come up a lot in the all the games I play.
What is your favourite food?
Nothing beats my Mum's amazing Chicken and Potato Biryani. I also love Mexican food - there's just something about a good old Chimichanga that I cannot resist. Arriba Arriba!
Who is your favourite Celebrity and why?
My favourite celebrity is Simon Cowell - I think he's just an amazing person and everything he touches turns to gold.
Plus his opinion means so much to people. If Simon Cowell gives you the thumbs up for something, it's like you've been given a free ‘access all access' pass to heaven!
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
That's a really tough one as I love travelling. It would be a split between Hong Kong and Dubai.
Do you have any hobbies?
Yes – loads! I may not look like an extreme sports fan but nothing gives me more pleasure than parasailing, paragliding, swimming with sharks, F1 racing and bungee jumping. My New Year's resolution is to do more of the things that make me happy – like travelling, spending time with my friends and family and if I can find the time, cooking which I'm actually pretty good at.
Which actor would play you in a movie of your life?
This question has had me awake for two days! If it had to be a Hollywood actress then I would say Rachel Weisz. I am a really big fan of Bollywood films so if it was a Bollywood actress then I would choose Sonakshi Sinh or Deepika Pudukone.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Oh dear – can't believe I'm admitting this - The Backstreet Boys!! When I was 16 my ambition in life was to marry Nick Carter! (OMG, now I'm really cringing!)
What is your favourite TV programme?
I have a bit of a thing for trashy TV actually so you'll find me glued to my TV screen when The Hills, Keeping up with the Kardashians and Made in Chelsea are on! I'm also a big Eastenders fan but unfortunately my family hate it.
Who did you have a poster of on your bedroom wall as a child?
Dec from Ant and Dec (or PJ and Duncan as they were known in those days). I used to be a huge fan of Byker Grove – yet another cringe worthy moment!
If you were hosting a ‘Come Dine With Me' which 3 celebs would you invite and why?
1) Simon Cowell - I can't sing to save my life but I know Simon would love my food so at least he'd give me his vote in the food stakes.
2) Michael McIntyre - one of my favourite comedians and he would be amazing at breaking the ice and keeping everyone entertained.
3) Jedward - I would have to invite them, but not for their singing skills obviously, just for pure comedy value and I bet they would drive Simon Cowell crazy : )
