Flutter
Betting made easy – let's make it fun to have a Flutter

First things first, betting is not as scary as some people would like you to think!

For too long Sports betting has had a hard macho reputation which doesn't do it any favours – because it can be great fun.

Gala Flutter has been expressly designed for you, the first-time or novice bettor who wants to put a few quid on your favourite football team, tennis player or, as has become very popular in recent years, your favourite TV competitions like X-Factor, Strictly and Dancing on Ice!

But, of course, it is a little different from Bingo wagering so let's start with the most basic bet there is - putting on a single ‘To Win' bet for an outright winner.

How do I place a bet at Flutter?

Let's just say that it's football, Liverpool is playing Manchester United tonight and you want Liverpool ‘To Win'.

The bet is a single ‘To Win' bet meaning that Liverpool must win for you to win. There's no alternative outcome except win or lose.
  1. First you need to find what you want to bet on. Select the sport or entertainment you wish to bet on from the left hand menu on the Flutter Homepage.
  2. Select the event you wish to bet on. Choose Football, then Football England, then Premier League
  3. You'll now see a list of Premier League matches being played tonight.
  4. Find your match and you'll see the odds (chances) for Liverpool ‘to win'. Liverpool's name is first so that means they are at ‘Home'. The odds for ‘Home' are . Click on this button.
  5. Your betslip will pop up on the right. Enter your stakes (how much you want to place on Liverpool winning. We've already said £1.

3/1 in this case means that if Liverpool win, you'll get £4 back. The £3 mentioned in the odds and the £1 you bet! See our odds explained section for more on that.
  6. Click on Place Bet or if you haven't logged in ‘Log in and place bet'
Make sure the bet is correct (£1 on Liverpool to win!) and that you want to place it as they cannot be cancelled later, then click OK and your bet will be on.

Congratulations, you've just had your first Flutter!

Betslip Explained
Our Betslip is the tool to use to place your bet. When you click on the odds beside your horse, for example , it will go in your betslip.

Horse (or selection) you are betting on!

The odds given for that horse. For more info, read our How Do Odds Work?.

Your stake: how much do you want to bet for that horse?

Select here if you want your bet to be Each Way. It means you are betting twice: for the horse to win and for the horse to place.
If you have selected more than 1 horse on the same race, you will have Forecast, Reverse Forecast, Tricast and combination forecast options where you need to guess which horses will arrive 1st/2nd or 1st/2nd and 3rd.
These are the multiple bet options. Instead of entering your stake above. You can place a multiple bet and simply add your stake beside the multiple bet type.

This will show how much your bet/s will cost.

This will show how much money you have on your Gala Flutter Account.

When you add your stake, the betslip will show you the potential returns. For these to be fulfilled, you will need to place the bet by clicking on BET NOW and your horse/horses need to win! 1. First you need to find what you want to bet on. Select the sport you wish to bet on from our Homepage.
  2. Select the event you wish to bet on.
  3. Scroll down the page and click on your selection to add the bet to the betslip.
  4. Your betslip will pop up. Enter your stakes (how much you want to place on the horse for example).
  5. Select the E/W box. This will mean that you will get a return if your horse wins and you will also get something back if your horse places.

Note: By selecting the Each Way box you will double your stakes as you are basically placing 2 bets: one for the horse to win and one for the horse to place.
  6. Click on Bet Now.

How is my Each Way bet calculated?

So your horse has romped home in the National (or just crept into the places 2nd, 3rd, 4th...) and you want to know how much you have won - see the example below which explains it all.

You have backed Ballabriggs for £5 Each Way at a price of 14/1. The each way terms of the race are five places at a quarter the odds.

He romps home to win so you will be paid as follows:

You will be paid on the win part of your bet, £5 at 14/1 and the place part of the bet £5 at a 1/4 of 14/1.

WIN: £5 at 14/1 pays £75 (£5 x 14 =£70 plus your £5 stake back).

PLACE: A quarter of 14/1 is 3.5/1 (14 divided by 4) so the place part of the bet is paid as £5 at 3.5/1 = £22.50 (£5 x 3.5 = £17.50 plus your £5 stake back).

TOTAL RETURNS: WIN plus PLACE = £75 plus £22.50 = £97.50.

If your horse finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th then you just get the place returns above - the win part of your bet is lost.

For example: Niche Market finished fifth, so £5 at 16/1 is settled as: A quarter of 16/1 is 4/1 (16 divided by 4) so the place part of the bet is paid as £5 at 4/1 = £25 (£5 x 4 = £20 plus your £5 stake back).

How do I place a multiple bet?

Make sure the bet is correct and that you want to place it as they cannot be cancelled later, then click OK and your bet will be on.
  1. First you need to find what you want to bet on. Select the sport you wish to bet on from our Homepage.

  4. Your betslip will pop up. Enter your stakes (how much you want to place on the horse for example).
  5. Select the E/W box. This will mean that you will get return if your horse wins and you will also get something back if your horse places.

Note: By selecting the Each Way box you will double your stakes as you are basically placing 2 bets: one for the horse to win and one for the horse to place.

How does a void selection affect my bet?

If you have placed a multiple bet type i.e. Double, Treble or Accumulator, then your bet type will drop to the next level. For example, if you have a Double with 1 void selection, your bet will then become a Single. If you have a 6 fold accumulator with 1 void selection, your bet will then become a 5 fold accumulator.

If you have placed a Single bet and you have a void selection, you will receive your stake back. If your bet was placed with a free bet, your free bet will not be returned to your Coral account.

The same process is used for bets such as Lucky 15's. You will receive a refund based on your unit stake for the 1 void selection and the remainder of the bets will drop down to the relevant bet type. This will be different for most bet types and if you require further clarification, please contact our Customer Support Team.

What is a Rule 4 Deduction?

If a horse is withdrawn before coming under Starters Orders, and after a course market has been formed, then bets will be settled in accordance with Tattersall's rules. The Tattersall's Rule 4 deduction scale adjusts prices to reflect the absence from the book of any non-runner.

The following deductions are made per pound won and relate to the price of the withdrawn horse at the time the bet was struck. However, if two or more horses are withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders, then the total deduction will be the sum of the individual deductions, up to a maximum of 90p per pound won.

How can I view my bet history?

You can track any bets that you have placed by going to My Account and then Bet History. You can filter your search which will narrow down the results that you receive from this.

There is also a Key available that shows the result of each bet that you have placed.

What is the minimum bet I can place with Gala Flutter?

The bet slip will highlight to inform you whether or not the stake you have entered meets the minimum requirement. This minimum stakes will change depending on the bet type and also the market(s) that the bet is being placed on.

There is no maximum stake for a bet, although this will still be subject to the maximum pay-out relating to the particular betting opportunity.

What does SP mean?

In horse racing the starting price (SP) is the odds prevailing in the on-course fixed-odds betting market at the time a race begins. The method by which SPs are set for each runner varies in different countries but is generally by consensus of an appointed panel at the racetrack who observe the fluctuations of the odds.

In the UK and Ireland, the SP is an average of the prices offered by the on-course bookmakers at the start of each race. These prices form the basis of the payout to winning punters if they haven't taken a specified price themselves, and are not known by the punters at the time of betting. Unless you state a specific price upon the bet placement you will receive the SP return.

Odds Explained

If you're new to betting, one of the first things you should do is learn how betting odds work. It's important because it allows you understand how likely an event is to happen, and potentially what your winnings will be. At first it may appear to be confusing, however read our guide below and let us explain the basics for you.

Fractional Odds

Fractional odds are the odds most commonly used by UK bookmakers. Fractional odds tell us how much profit will be returned from a 1 unit stake as opposed to how much in total will be returned from a 1 unit stake.

If a lot of money is put on a certain outcome/selection, it becomes "the favourite" and the price is shortened (i.e. odds made smaller) and that of the other outcomes/selections are pushed out (i.e. odds made bigger).

Now let's figure out how much money can be won using betting odds.

So you're watching the X-factor, and one act has odds of 4/1 to win, and one has 40/1 to win, but you have no idea what that means!?

Singer A is 4/1 - so for every £1 you bet, you receive £4 winnings back. Plus your £1 stake so £5 back in total
Singer B is 40/1 so for every £1 you bet, you receive £40 winnings back. Plus your £1 stake so £41 back in total

Decimal Odds

Decimal odds are a simpler way of working out betting odds - and they don't give you a headache every time you want to place a bet.

Do you know the difference between 8/13 and 4/7? No? Well, not many people do. But with decimals you'd know instantly

How do decimal odds work?

If the decimal odds are 2.2 and you place a back bet of £10 and win, your total return is £10 x 2.2 = £22. This is equivalent to a traditional price of 6/5.

Decimal odds make it much easier to figure out which price is best - the bigger the number, the higher the return. Take a look at the table below to see why.

The key part to remember is that decimal odds always include the unit stake.

Fractional odds represent the profit - 5/1 means you will win five pounds for every one pound staked.

Decimal odds represent the return – 6.00 means you will receive £6.00 for every pound invested, including your stake.

Please find below a conversion table for decimal/fractional odds. Chance of winning Percentage included As an example the odds of a selection you are interested in backing is 2/1. From the betting percentage table we know that the chance of winning according to the betting market is 33.3%.

Lotto
There's a Lot-to win at Gala Lotto – here's how to do it!

With Gala Lotto it's a fixed odds bet from a range of global lotteries so it doesn't matter how many people get the same results as you – you'll still get something if your numbers come up!

Here's how:

First, visit the Gala Lotto Betting page here

At the top of the page, you'll see a carousel of all upcoming lottery events from various world famous options!

Choosing one of these events will automatically reset betting options to the relevant upcoming draw times in the ‘Choose The Draw' box.

Simply go through the steps, select your numbers and place your bets.

However, you can also choose to make lottery bets independently.

Step 1) Scroll through the ‘Choose Your Lottery' carousel of lottery options.

Let's say that you want to bet on the UK lottery.

Step 2) Clicking on the UK flag will now reset the betting options to the relevant upcoming draw times in the ‘Choose The Draw' box.

For the UK, you will see Wednesday or Saturday depending on which day is next.

Let's say you choose the first option.

Step 3) You will now see the ‘How Many Draws?' option. In this section you can select how many future draws you wish to bet on.

Let's say you choose the first option which is ‘Next Draw'. (Choosing ‘Next 2 Draws/Next 3 Draws' simply means your bets will automatically be repeated for that amount of draws).

You will also be asked if you wish to include the booster ball option. Let's go for ‘Yes'

Step 4) You can now choose bet type in the ‘Choose a Bet Type?' box. There is a choice of ‘Straight Bets' or ‘Combination Bets'. Let's say you choose ‘Straight Bets'.

Step 5) You will be asked to ‘Choose your numbers or try a lucky dip'. A lucky dip will, of course, select the relevant amount of numbers for you; a maximum of five numbers in the case of the UK lottery.

However, you can choose less than five on your own and the odds will be calculated on how many numbers you choose.

But let's say you decide to choose your own maximum of five. Simply click on the numbers and your selection will appear in the box below.

Step 6) You will notice that your numbers have appeared with odds in the ‘Place Your Bets' box on the right.

You will notice that you now have the option to place up to five bets each depending on how many numbers you picked.

E.g. 6 = 5/1, 6+12 = 38/1 etc

Let's say you decide to put £1 on all five bets. Type ‘1' in each Stake box.

You have now placed a total of 5 bets totalling £5. Click on ‘Place Bets'

You will now see all your bets listed in order, the total stake, and your potential return.

Click ‘Cancel Bet' (red button) or ‘Confirm Bet' (pink button) to complete the process.

Well done!

A NOTE ON COMBINATION BETS

You may remember that in Step 4, you had a choice of bet types in the ‘Choose a Bet Type?' box. ‘Straight Bets' or ‘Combination Bets'.

Choosing ‘Combination Bets' will allow to choose any range of numbers up to 25 which will then give you a different range of bets.

For example choosing 25 numbers will then give you two betting options. 1) Single(s) at odds of 5/1 staked 25 times (25x) and Doubles from 25 at odds of 38/1 staked 300 times (300x).

Remember that you can also check the full results list following each draw for the all latest big lotteries from around the world as they happen.

Good luck!

Fair Gaming at Gala Bingo
GalaBingo.com is owned and operated by Gala Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited, licensed by the Government of Gibraltar and regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner in accordance with the Gambling Act 2005.

All online products operated by Gala Bingo are supplied by companies approved by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner. This includes all products within the admin-portal.galabingo.com website, Gala Bingo Downloadable client, Gala Bingo mobile WAP version and mobile app.

Gala Bingo is a member of the Virtue Fusion Bingo Network, and bingo outcomes are generated by the Virtue Fusion Random Number Generator (RNG), while game outcomes for Bingo casino games are generated by the Playtech Random Number Generator (RNG). Both the Playtech RNG and the Virtue Fusion RNG have gone through and passed external compliance testing. The testing was performed against a standard recognised by highly regulated remote gambling jurisdictions around the world including Gibraltar. The test includes a review of the RNG source code, RNG design as well as data analysis. The series of tests have confirmed that the RNG distributes numbers with sufficient non-predictability, fair distribution and lack of bias to particular outcomes. To view the Playtech RNG Testing Report, click here or the Virtue Fusion Bingo RNG certificate, click here.

Similar to the RNG, all Casino products operated by Gala Bingo have also undergone comprehensive testing prior to being launched; this includes External Compliance Testing and subsequently Internal Testing conducted by our in-house Quality Assurance team. The External Compliance Testing is performed by an approved testing house which verifies elements such as Functionality, Display, Transaction, Rules and Mathematic (i.e. Return to Player (RTP) calculation) etc. to ensure the overall product is compliant to applicable regulatory requirements. Subsequently, we performed Internal Testing that includes Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing. This ensures the game, once integrated into our gaming platform, performs as it was expected in terms of user experience.

The Theoretical Return to Player (RTP) value is a theoretical calculation of the average / expected percentage return of the total money bet over a large number of game plays (e.g. hundreds of million games). While you can win a big amount or lose your bet in any single game play, the average return of a specific game played over a long period of time will approach the Theoretical RTP value. This theoretical value is calculated either via analytical methods (which often is possible for non-strategy dependent games such as slots), or via computer simulations of those more complex or strategy dependent game (e.g. blackjack, poker etc.). To view the Theoretical RTP values for Gala Bingo Casino games, please click here.

How can I be sure that your games are fair and random ?

Gala Bingo is a well established, trusted and leading brand with a strong customer focus. We are licensed and regulated in Gibraltar, home to the world's leading online gambling operators and a world leader in remote gambling regulation. We are wholly committed to providing verifiably fair gambling.

All our games meet the strict regulatory standards set by our regulator, the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, including the requirement to have all our games rigorously tested and certified as fair and random by an independent test house before we can make these games available to play.

For more information about our regulatory requirements, including a full list of independent test laboratories that have met the highest standards required by the Minister for Gambling in Gibraltar for approved status, please see: https://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/remotegambling.

What is a ‘Random Number Generator' (‘RNG'), and what is the relevance of this to the games you offer on your site ?

A ‘Random Number Generator', or ‘RNG', is software that generates a sequence of numbers or symbols that lack any pattern over an extended number (millions) of plays. It is the component of the games that produces the random outcomes of our games.

How can I be sure that the ‘RNG' is indeed random and fair ?

The ‘RNG' provided by our software supplier Playtech has been rigorously tested and certified as random and fair by ‘GLI Europe BV', whilst the Bingo RNG has been equally rigorously tested and certified as random and fair by ‘SQS India Infosystems PVT Ltd', both entities being independent test houses that have met the highest standards required by the Minister for Gambling in Gibraltar for approved status.

What does ‘Return to Player' (‘RTP') mean ?

Each game has a ‘Theoretical RTP' value, and an ‘Actual RTP' value.

The ‘Theoretical RTP' is the expected return of the total money bet over an extended number (millions) of plays on the game and expressed as a percentage. Therefore, games with a theoretical RTP value of 98% indicates that 98% of the total money bet on the game is returned to players.

The ‘Actual RTP' is determined by way of periodic analysis of the game outcomes, also expressed as a percentage, to ensure that this remains close to the ‘Theoretical RTP' and an indicator that the game continues to function properly, randomly and fairly.

Analysis to ensure that the ‘Actual RTP's' of the games remain close to the ‘Theoretical RTPs' of games are carried out quarterly, and the results are available on our ‘Fair Gambling' page: ‘insert appropriate hyperlink depending on the brand'.

The RTP for the game is not true, I have not received the percentage return that is published for the game

RTP is a measure of all the play of all the players of the game pooled together. It is not the play or return to any one player. Some people will win and have an RTP in excess of 100%, some will lose and have an RTP of less than 100%. A player who wins £500 from £10 play has an RTP of 5000%. Players must recognise that if some winners have an RTP of 5000%, many other players are likely to have an RTP lower than the advertised average.

Why do the same names seem to appear on the ‘Winners List' on Bingo time and time again ?

The ‘Winners List' is a list of recent winners. It captures each players' total winnings during recent games sessions, on all games played, so a higher depositing player will get more ‘turnover' from their deposit in occasional prizes, as well as any larger wins, and all these winnings will count. A lower depositing player will not feature on the list unless they get a big win. Some lists may capture many days of play, so a player may appear more than once, or stay on the list for a lengthy period.

How can I access the results of the games I have played?

You are able to access your Game History by clicking on ‘My Account' from the homepage. Once there you will need to select ‘Game History' from the menu on the left of your screen. This will allow you to look for specific games you have played and their results. Please note that you will need to select an option from each of the drop down menus within ‘Game History' in order for a search result to be returned.

How can I be sure that ‘live gaming' is fair

‘Live gaming' takes place in strictly controlled studios, is fully recorded and monitored and is subject to statistical performance checking in the same way that software ‘RNG' gaming is checked. Live dealers can make mistakes in their handling of cards, spinning a wheel, etc., but these errors should be immediately apparent to all the players and the supervisor and can be checked.

For any issues customers should contact the Live Casino ‘Pit Boss' using the chat function on Live games, or Customer Services by Live Chat, email or telephone and can report any issues they feel have not been resolved. Customers should make a note of the game ID to ensure that Customer Services can respond quickly and efficiently.
