Chat Host: Ben

Meet Ben

Get your giggle on with this character, who fancies himself as a bit of a Britney impersonator and would love to dabble in sorcery.

Q. What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you?
A. I was singing ‘Baby One More Time' at the top of my voice whilst spring-cleaning my apartment... with the windows open. Suddenly a stranger knocked on the window and told me I'd make a good Britney. Mortified!

Q. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A. Tokyo – I want to visit the Kyoto temples and Tokyo Disneyland. Take in the sights and sounds! Plus I want to try sleeping in one of those ‘pod hotels' where your room is no bigger than a wardrobe!

Q. What do you like most about your job as a Chat Host?
A. I love the fact I get to talk to such a variety of people. Regulars or newbies, everyone's different and has something interesting to say.

Q. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I wanted to be a primary school teacher. After doing some work experience I realised this was something I should do when I'm a bit older – after my trip round the world.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A. It's not really a superpower, more the ability to conjure spells and incantations – think Sabrina the teenage b... err, witch!  I'd love to be able to conjure a roast dinner with the flick of my hand or tidy my house by snapping my fingers!

Q. If you could have dinner with five famous people from history, who would they be?
A. Hmmm, that's a hard one!

  1. My grandmother as she suffered a stroke when I was 12 and I'd love to chat to her about a lot of things!
  2. Leigh Bowery – So I could absorb some of his creativity.
  3. Julie Andrews – Practically perfect in every way (and I'd want her to pour the tea!).
  4. Ethel Merman – Doesn't need explaining. Legend.
  5. Princess Diana – Because she was fabulous and I reckon she'd add a certain class to my meal!
