Get a Bingo Club Experience Online

Going to the local bingo club has been a regular social event for many people for several decades. The air of excitement as you head inside with your friends and say hello to other players before finding a table and getting your cards lined up ready to play is an experience like no other.

However, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the doors of our favourite clubs have had to remain shut due to health and safety reasons. And, although there are many online bingo sites where you play games in the interim, they’re just not the same or as realistic as the sessions at your local bingo club, or are they?

Gala Bingo wants to keep our players safe while also allowing them to have as much fun as possible, and as part of our commitment to expanding our online entertainment offering to make it as inclusive as possible, we’ve introduced a brand-new feature called Club Bingo!

What is Club Bingo?

Ask the members of a typical bingo club what they like about playing, and they’re likely to tell you that the social aspect of the game is even more important than the chance to win prizes.

There’s a certain camaraderie among players that you don’t often see in other competitive hobbies, with people congratulating each other for their wins. Plus, before, between, and after each game, there’s the chance to catch up with each other’s news, share some jokes, and meet new members.

Clubs tend to run a variety of games during each session to make the experience as much fun as possible while also allowing more people the chance to win. And, for club chains, there are usually exclusive games that bring customers together even further.

Club Bingo at Gala makes it just as easy to purchase tickets and play your favourite games, and better still, there’s no queueing to get in!

How Do You Recreate the Experience Online?

Every night at Gala Bingo, we’re bringing you all of the anticipation and excitement of our land-based bingo clubs directly to your home, and you can even join in on your mobile device.

We offer a range of session prices, and each 75-minute session offers something new and different every night of the week.

For example, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, you can purchase ticket bundles for as little as £6, and on Fridays, the last game of the session awards £1,500 for a full house.

If you’re a club regular, you’ll instantly recognise some of our classic events such as Double Chance, Ton Up, and High Five Bingo.

Plus, we’ve increased the time between games to allow you more time to chat with your fellow roomies and take part in themed chat games.

Even if you’re a full-blown technophobe who’s terrified by Twitch or confused by Zoom, we make it easy for you to enjoy the bingo club experience that you’ve come to know and love.

You can play solo or alongside your friends, but however you choose to join in, don’t forget that you’ll need to pre-buy your tickets before the session starts in our Main Event room at 7.30 PM.

Why not use our tips below to make playing at Club Bingo even more authentic and fun-packed?

Set Up a Video Call

Since lockdown began in March, almost everyone has used or heard about video calling services such as Facetime, Zoom and Skype but there are plenty of options in the app store.

These can be particularly useful if you’d like to recreate the ultimate bingo club experience by playing alongside your friends, even though you’ll be in separate physical locations.

Using Wi-Fi instead of your mobile data is best as it won’t cost you a penny, and once everyone is connected to the call, you can then log in to your respective Gala Bingo accounts and join us for Club Bingo in the Main Event room.

Create the Club Atmosphere

If you’re playing via a video call with your mates, you could nominate one of them to act as DJ so that you can play along (and sing along, naturally) to your favourite tunes while your bingo tickets are automatically marked and sorted by our software.

Of course, if you’re playing on your own, you get to choose the entire soundtrack for the evening and even if your singing’s been compared to a cat being strangled, people online will only be able to see what you type and not hear your best rendition of “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy”.

You could also kit out your room with balloons, banners, and whatever else you fancy, including your good luck charm that you sometimes take to the bingo club.

Keep hunger at bay

We know that some people like to eat later than others, so if your usual dinner time conflicts with our Club Bingo sessions or you simply fancy a snack or two while you’re playing, make sure you plan in advance.

If you don’t want to end up spilling lasagne over your keyboard or dripping pizza on your mobile phone, we recommend ensuring that a bowl of popcorn, peanuts, or non-messy finger food is within easy reach. Alternatively, you could take advantage of one of the many contactless delivery services that will bring hot and tasty food direct to your door without interrupting your evening.
