Leprechaun's Magic Megaways

Leprechaun’s Magic from Red Tiger was an Irish-themed take on the “Book of” series. And it obviously went down well with the players, because now there’s a Megaways version of the Leprechaun’s Magic, where the number of ways to win is not the only thing about the game that’s been boosted considerably. 

The design is basically the same as the original. Set in a wild part of Ireland, the background to the new, improved 6 reel grid is all thick waving grass, wildflowers, and knotty old trees, rather than the rolling hills and meadows so typical on other similar slots. The soundtrack also takes an unexpected twist with a sitar-like instrument joining in the Celtic ditty. 

Up to 5 symbols can land on each of the 6 reels, giving up to 15,625 ways to win. This isn’t as high as we see in other Megaways slots, with up to 117,649 now pretty much standard, and some games even going up to 1,000,000.  

But that doesn't mean that this game doesn't have very high potential, which is reflected in the betting range, which starts at 0.20 but only goes up to 4. This might not attract many high rollers, but a maximum possible win of 20,000 x the stake should be enough to satisfy more casual players. 

The symbols Red Tiger Gaming has chosen for Leprechaun’s Magic Megaways are not the most original; standard 9 - A card ranks followed by a pipe, a top hat, horseshoes, and a Leprechaun with a bit of Elven blood, judging by the pointy ears. The higher value symbols award prizes of between 3 x, and 25 x the stake for six of a kind. 

There are no Wilds in this game, as that would make things just too easy in combination with the expanding symbols. The Scatter says Magic Spins, and unlocks the Magic Wheel to award the player with Free Spins.

Leprechaun's Magic Megaways takes a back to basics approach to Bonus Features. There are no cascading reels, which is a feature we've pretty much come to expect from a Megaways slot. But this isn't that surprising since the main feature is the "Book of Ra" inspired expanding symbols.  

After every win, the triggering symbol turns gold. If there is more than one win on a spin, there will be more gold symbols active on the next spin, and these can be seen in a box above the grid. If one of these gold symbols lands on the next spin, it will expand to cover the entire reel, boosting the player’s chances of another win considerably. What’s more, these gold symbols pay all ways, and don’t have to land on adjacent reels to form a combo. 

Three of the Magic Spins Scatters trigger the Magic Wheel. This spins to award the player between 4 and 12 Free Spins. More triggering Scatters means more Free Spins, up to a possible 24. As an added bonus, all symbols that turn gold during the Free Spins stay that way until the end of the round
