In the Gates of Olympus slot, players are greeted by Zeus standing beside the 6x5 grid. And he doesn’t look like he’s in the mood for visitors either. But all the same, he might decide to show his generous side and add random win multipliers to the reels for potential wins of up to 5,000x the bet. 

Gates of Olympus features the same Scatter Pays system as one of Pragmatic Play's other hit slot games, Sweet Bonanza. Instead of landing combinations across paylines like in the majority of online slots, wins in this game are formed by landing eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. They don't even have to be on adjacent reels. 

The lower-paying symbols are blue, green, yellow, purple and red gems which award maximum prizes of between 2x to 10x the bet for 12 or more. A chalice, a ring, an hourglass and a crown are the premiums. Landing 12 or more matching symbols of these pays from 12x to 50x the bet. Zeus also acts as the game's Scatter, triggering the Free Spins and giving generous payouts for 4, 5 or 6 in view.

The game's Tumble feature kicks in after every win, removing all the symbols that participated in the winning combinations from the reels. The remaining symbols on the reels and new ones tumble down to fill the empty spaces. If another new winning combination is formed, the reaction repeats and will continue until no more wins are formed. 

Round gems in a winged setting act as Multiplier symbols. On any spin during both the base game and the Free Spin, Zeus can randomly through lightning at the reels to add Multipliers which have a random value of 2x to 500x attached, and at the end of the Tumble, the win will be boosted by the total value of all multipliers on the screen. 

When four or more scatter symbols land, the game's Free Spins round triggers. This consists of 15 free spins, but  4, 5 or 6 Scatter symbols will award a payout of 3x, 5x and 100x the bet. During the round, every multiplier symbol that lands and is applied to a win is also collected. This total multiplier value is then applied to the win. Landing three or more scatter symbols during the round adds five extra spins to the remaining total. 

The Ante Bet feature increases the chances of triggering the Free Spins for a cost of 25% the total bet, although wins are still calculated using the original bet. There is also a Bonus Buy that allows players to go directly to the Free Spins for 100x the bet, but these options are not available to players in the UK.
