King Midas, the mythological ruler of Phrygia and hero of the Midas Magic slot, was famous for his lust for gold. According to legend, he was given one wish by a grateful supernatural being. And, very foolishly, as it turned out, he wished that everything he touched turned to gold. This did not go at all well, and the myth serves as a cautionary tale about greed.
