Twin Spin Megaways

NetEnt has revived its Twin Spins slot, giving it a Megaways makeover for its third outing. And the good news is that the studio has also learnt its lesson and packed in more features and twists to gameplay than it did in the predecessor, Twin Spins Deluxe.

The original game had novelty value thanks to its synchronised reel Twin Spin feature. But then the sequel game, along with nothing much more to offer, and fell kinda flat. But things are different with Twin Spin Megaways, so read on.  

The visuals are pretty much the same, except for the 6 reels. The symbols are the same as in previous slots in the series; 9-A card ranks, and cherries, bells, bars, sevens, and diamonds as the five premiums. Payout values are lower as this is a megaways slot with an Avalanche feature, with premiums now worth from 1 to 10 times the stake for six of a kind.

The Wild can appear anywhere on the grid, including on synchronised reels, and will stand in for the regular symbols to form combos. And as you can imagine, wilds on synchronised reels can really add to the win potential of the game.  

The Scatter is one symbol players who are familiar with the original games haven't seen before. It can also land anywhere on the reels, and five or more will trigger the Free Spins. 

NetEnt has undoubtedly upped the number of features on offer when compared with the original game. For a start, it's stuck in a Megaways standard, the Avalanche. After every win, all the symbols involved explode, and others tumble into their place, possibly forming a new win. If this is the case, the Avalanche is retriggered.  

The next feature was the big draw of the original game. On any spin in both the base game and Free Spins, two or more adjacent reels can be "twinned", meaning they will display exactly the same symbols. If this helps trigger a win, different symbols will fall in the following cascade. A really big improvement on the previous slots in the series is the addition of a Free Spin round. It's not so easy to trigger, needing a minimum of 5 Scatters to land on one spin. This gives the player 15 Free Spins, with an extra one added for every Scatter over 5. 

During free spins, win potential is boosted in two ways. The reels always land the maximum number of 7 symbols, so all paylines are open, and the Wilds come with multipliers up to x 2 or x 3 attached. The Free Spins will also retrigger with 15 more spins if five Scatters land during the round. 

NetEnt came up with an original feature in the Twin Spin slots, and now it's been improved on with the Megaways mechanic and a Free Spins round, plus some other additions. But it is still a volatile game so always set a loss limit before playing. Good Luck!
